Tontokrom, a farming community in the Offinso North of the Ashanti Region marked a significant milestone in its educational development with a sod-cutting ceremony for a new six (6) unit classroom block.

The project is expected to improve access to quality educational infrastructure in the community, which has long lacked adequate learning facilities. When completed, the facility will serve not only the people of Tontokrom, but also surrounding communities, helping to enhance teaching and learning in the area.

Addressing the gathering, the District Chief Executive for the area, Caesar Ofosu Acheampong underscored the importance of quality education infrastructure in improving teaching and learning outcomes within the district.

He stated that the initiative forms part of the Assembly’s resetting agenda aimed at ensuring equitable development across the district. He charged the contractor to ensure that the project is executed to the highest standards and completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said the facility would include a headteacher’s office, staff common and a store.

He reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to prioritising education and investing in projects that would improve the future of the children within the Offinso North District.

The contractor in response, assured the assembly and the people of Tontokrom of his commitment to delivering quality work within schedule, noting that efficiency and excellence remain the hallmark of his operation.

The Assembly members, traditional authorities, community leaders and residents of Tontokrom attended the ceremony and expressed their appreciation for the intervention.
