Gospel Minister Francis Amo was arrested on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Accra Central Police Station following a copyright complaint filed by The Church of Pentecost.
Amo was detained from about 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. before being granted bail. The church accused him of copyright infringement involving their song Ne Din Ne Jesus.
According to reports, Amo, who has ministered with The Church of Pentecost since 2008, was invited to record songs for the church. He expressed interest in one written by Elder Moses, titled Ode Bone Kye, and sought to produce a worship cover version. After submitting a formal request, he uploaded the cover—retitled Ne Din Ne Jesus—to streaming platforms on April 15, 2026, without authorization.
The following day, Elder Moses asked him to remove the song, which he did. However, on April 18, police contacted him regarding a criminal complaint filed by the church. In a Radio XYZ interview on April 21, Amo said he was invited for questioning but was informed on arrival that he was under arrest.
He has since apologized to The Church of Pentecost leadership and members, admitting he was wrong to release the song without proper permission.

Can't the church resolve this without bringing the police in it? Can't the church handles it differently considering the fact that the singer is somebody who has performed for the church before? ASEM OOO
