Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has announced the party’s determination to reclaim the Nsawam-Adoagyiri parliamentary seat, currently held by Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh. Gbande argued that the seat was unfairly won by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking on UTV on Friday, December 12, Gbande linked his comments to developments surrounding the Kpandai parliamentary rerun, stressing that the NDC remains committed to recovering constituencies it believes were “stolen” through electoral irregularities and unfair practices.

He emphasized that the party will continue to contest election outcomes in constituencies it considers compromised, naming Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Suhum, and Tolon as priority targets.

“The Minority is confused. They bring placards to the chamber protesting Kpandai, and when you ask them to explain their concerns all they say is President Mahama’s third term. We will pursue all the seats they stole from us. After Kpandai, we will follow up on Annoh-Dompreh’s constituency and then Suhum and Tolon,” Gbande declared.

The spotlight has recently shifted to the Kpandai seat after a High Court ruling annulled the 2024 election results, following an NDC petition citing electoral irregularities. The court ordered a rerun, prompting Parliament to declare the seat vacant.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled the rerun for Tuesday, December 30, 2025. However, the Minority Caucus has rejected both the court’s ruling and Parliament’s action, describing the rerun as unconstitutional and a threat to Ghana’s democratic order.

I thought NDC are still in court on all four constituencies declared for NPP. By June next year, all those cases will be settled by High courts
