The Leader and Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, has prophesied that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) could lose the 2028 general elections.
He said the party is gradually losing the spiritual backing that helped it return to power after defeating the New Patriotic Party in 2024.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, September 28, Rev. Owusu Bempah cautioned the NDC not to rely on Ghana’s perceived eight-year governance cycle, warning that President John Dramani Mahama’s second term may not guarantee another victory.
“I have seen in the spiritual realm that the NDC’s power has dropped. The spirit backing the NDC has declined, the force and power behind the party has diminished, and it is sinking,” he said.
“If they want to rule for two consecutive terms, they must rekindle their power. Otherwise, after President John Mahama’s tenure, they will lose power in 2028,” he added.
He stressed, “They[NDC] think that any political party that comes to power must enjoy two consecutive terms. But if the NDC follows this pattern, they will be disappointed because I have seen that the power that brought them to power has dropped.”
The prophecy comes as recent surveys by IMANI Africa and Global InfoAnalytics suggest that President Mahama’s approval ratings have declined.

I have never believed in your prophecy, and I will never. Your prophecy is money prophecy. In less than a year, what the NDC has achieved is something the NPP couldn't achieve in eight years. Look at the comfort of Ghanaians, and the economy, so which intelligent Ghanaian will go down the poll to vote for a political party that rendered all institutions bankrupt, and collapsed the economy and businesses amid a national debt of over GHC763 billion?
