A major drug trafficking attempt has been foiled at the Swiss Port in Tema, where officers from the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) intercepted a cargo shipment containing suspected cocaine on Wednesday, April 23.
During the intelligence-driven operation, officials uncovered 73 slabs of a concealed substance suspected to be cocaine, with an estimated weight of 89.74 kilograms. The illicit cargo was allegedly being prepared for export to the Netherlands.
Four individuals linked to the shipment have been arrested. NACOC has not yet released their identities but confirmed that the suspects are in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities say the seizure forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on international drug trafficking networks using Ghana’s ports as transit points.
NACOC has reiterated its commitment to strengthening surveillance and intelligence operations to prevent Ghana from becoming a hub for illicit drug trade.

That's a good job NACOC. Mahama's administration must investigate to find its source and the brains behind it; after that, everything must be made public. No stone should be left unturned.
