Police in the United Kingdom have launched an intensive search for a 25-year-old Nigerian prisoner who escaped from a custodial transport van in the Plumstead area of south-east London.
The fugitive, identified as Temitope Segun, reportedly fled while being transported in custody. Authorities have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding the escape and investigations are underway to determine how the incident occurred.
According to police, Segun was last seen wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers at the time he escaped.
The incident has triggered a major manhunt, with officers deployed to trace and apprehend the escaped prisoner.
Police have appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any sightings or information that could assist in locating him.
Authorities have also cautioned the public against approaching Segun, urging anyone who sees him to contact the police instead.
The search operation remains ongoing as security agencies work to return the escaped prisoner to custody.
