The Accra High Court has granted permission for Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to travel abroad to pursue a Master’s degree programme.
The court’s approval comes with the condition that he returns to Ghana to appear before it on the next adjourned date for the continuation of his trial.
Abronye DC is currently standing trial on charges of publication of false news and offensive conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.
He was previously admitted to bail by the court but was required to surrender his passport as part of the bail conditions.
The latest ruling now temporarily allows him to travel outside the country while ensuring compliance with ongoing court proceedings.
