Former Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has responded to allegations regarding her absence during the crucial vote for the e-levy in Parliament.
She clarified that while she was indeed present in the chambers on the day of the vote, her appearance had changed significantly due to her childbirth, leading to some noticeable weight gain.
Safo emphasized that the claims of her being impersonated during the voting process were unfounded and seemed to be a strategic move by certain individuals within her political party, aimed at tarnishing her reputation.
She expressed disappointment at the internal political dynamics that could foster such deceitful tactics, asserting that her commitment to her constituency and role as an MP remained strong despite the rumors surrounding her voting presence.
“I was in Parliament, and claims of impersonation are false. People said it was my sister. I had given birth, so I had put on a lot of weight. The impersonation claims were orchestrated by people in my party. Politics is crazy.
"There were claims that I said if Afenyo Markin is not removed as Deputy Minister, I won’t come back to Parliament which wasn’t true. Afenyo Markin is a brother,” she said on Asempa FM.
