Charles Asiedu, Member of Parliament-elect for Tano South and son of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has revealed that his father was confident in his ability to secure victory in the December 2024 general elections.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, January 5, 2025, after completing his registration for the 9th Parliament, Charles Asiedu shared that his father's confidence in his capabilities fueled his determination to work hard for the seat.
"My father was not surprised because he knew my capabilities when I won the election.
“He was really excited that his son was going to be a member of the 9th Parliament," he said.
Asiedu credited his victory not just to his father's influence as a political stalwart but also to his own relentless efforts during the campaign.
He successfully unseated the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) incumbent MP, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, by securing 20,056 votes against Sekyere’s 19,061.
