Often, we tend to blame people for their errors, their bad attitude, or even their immorality. But one thing I notice is that we blame the man rather than the one who placed him there. Do not forget he was placed there for a purpose. He was placed there sometimes to be used, abused, and forced to do what he does not want to do. The mission is to always accomplish a greedy ambition. This write up focuses more on Ghana’s political outlook.
I am not going to beat around the bush. Ghana as a country has come far and we cannot just allow some selfish individuals tarnish the good name our fore founders has made. Look, we are in difficult times my dear friends and it shocks to know that people are suffering, people are dying, companies are crashing, and life generally is becoming a stress because we must adjust to the new norm. And what is the new norm? A norm where health and safety is our topmost priority.
Today, partisan sentiments are cherished more than human lives, political campaigns and propaganda is all we hear. Politicians are literally buying people’s minds because of power and no one seem to be concerned. Well, I am and that is why you are reading this write-up. Some of the Politicians we voted into power are now frustrating us.
And I ask this question; who voted these individuals into office? You and I did. And for what reason were they voted into power? To raise the name of Ghana high or raise themselves high. Well I do not know for them but all I do know is they must and always represent the country and the people. We must be their number 1 priority because is a service to the nation and not their families, friends or loved ones.
When you take a close look at Ghana’s political system and how some of these politicians’ abuse and use power, you will always ask yourself whether they will ever be held accountable. They display their wealth on social media as if that is all to the role given. The Politician is not doing us a favor. They must be held accountable.
Why do we wait for 4 years to change a system that clearly does not support the citizens?
This may make no sense but is up for the entire country to decide. Both young and old.
I suggest there should be other independent bodies/systems in place to monitor and evaluate promises and pledges made by Politicians.
People must be held accountable for their actions. There should be someone to answer for a loss, a deal or an initiative gone wrong etc.
How can we have an effective political system if no one wants to be held accountable? Politicians must be held accountable.
I have dedicated time and energy in this initiative to make sure wrongs are noticed, rights are recognized and praised.
I speak for the voiceless and write for the world to see how unfairly we are being treated us citizens in our own country. Yes, you and I deserve to know. We deserve to know everything that supports and does not support our growth as a country. Politicians come in the name of patriotism and mislead the citizenry into believing that their needs are their concern and number one (1) priority.
They lie to us and take contracts worth millions of cedis to enrich their pockets and that of their families and loved ones.
Ghana globally has chalked many successes and has been recognized as one of the peaceful countries in Africa and the world. According to a BBC report on 1st May 2018, Ghana is considered as one of the most stable countries in West Africa since it transitioned to a multi-party democracy in 1992.
Ghana is a middle-income country, the world’s second largest cocoa producer and Africa’s biggest gold miner after South Africa?
Over the last decade, Ghana has enjoyed increasingly stable and deepening democratic governance. Four successful elections in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 have strengthened the effectiveness of key national institutions, enhanced investor confidence and anchored the new economy into an environment for growth. Ghana has a high-profile peacekeeping role; troops have been deployed to Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and DR Congo.
Ghana enjoys a high degree of media freedom; the private press and broadcasters operate without significant restrictions from the State. The media is free to scrutinize and criticize the authorities without fear of retaliations. The private press is lively, and often carries criticism of government policies when it needs to.
So where from the sudden death of media personnel, meaningful and dedicated citizens serving their purpose in various Leadership roles.
Our lives matter as Ghanaian. It saddens me anytime I watch the television or listen to the radio and all I see and hear daily is about politics. Citizens are killed for doing the right thing, sacked for not complying with a wrong by our “so-called Leaders”.
Do you remember the banking crisis that happened between 2017 and 2020? It started a year after President Nana Akufo-Addo was elected as president in December 2016. The crisis was so severe that not only did it affect the country, but lives were also lost in the process, homes were shuttered, marriages were broken, relationships between fathers and their children were destroyed, etc.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE DECISION MAKERS IN THE COLLAPSED FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS? WHAT I ASK AGAIN?
The ordinary Ghanaian selling out there on the street, hawking and praying to make a living are the most affected when policies from “above” go wrong.
The politician do not care about you. Yes, they do not care about you. Their sole interest is to make life comfortable for themselves, families and loved ones. We have had encounters with several Presidents. Some we can boldly say did well, but for some we do not have much to say.
People who try to do the right things are either killed, lied on or sack unlawfully from their jobs. What is happening in Ghana?
We fail to admit we need help as a people and a country.
One of my articles titled “Mr. President what you want to be remembered for?” was published by Citi newsroom on 21st of April 2020. The question was directed to the President; but individuals in leadership roles must also answer it. What do you want to be remembered for? “Eric Worlali Domie writes: Mr. President, what do you want to be remembered for? https://citinewsroom.com/2020/04/eric-worlali-domie-writes-mr-president-what-do-you-want-to-be- remembered-for/”
Why kill the right man for doing the right thing? Why sack the right man for doing the right thing? Why poison the right man for doing the right thing?
Why downplay the intelligence of the right man with lies and by so doing put him in trouble?
We have heard and seen a lot of these issues come up but how were they examined and dealt with? Innocent people are abused and pushed to the limit where they cannot say no because their lives are at stake.
Do not blame the man, blame the one who placed him there.
The country gradually is falling apart, and Politicians are not seeing the reason to adopt new measures. The greed and selfish hearts of some Political Leaders are what we are fighting now.
How can we say it is right when it is wrong?
People are forced to sign contracts they do not want to, rob and steal from the innocent and the poor.
I see our security system; I see hearts and mind of troubled souls waiting for the next command to do something wrong.
Passion is no longer the core objective when joining a Security agency. Politicians have tarnished the names of these Nobel Institutions. They call on them and use them as they please.
Ghana is all we have, and we must protect Ghana and make Ghana proud. Thank you for reading, I would love to hear from you.
