Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church – Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo together with the clergy and other dignitaries inaugurate Christ The King Methodist Church – Anaji Estate as a head of the new circuit created today, March 14, 2021.
The Anaji Estate Circuit was for the past thirty-two (32) years, part of the Effiakuma Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana which also used to be part of the Takoradi Circuit.
The Move to Circuit Status
The idea of the Anaji Estate becoming a circuit was mooted by Rt. Rev. Daniel De-Graft Brace about four years ago, on a fateful Sunday during his visit to the Christ The King Methodist Chapel at Anaji Estate.
In 2018, during Sekondi Diocesan Synod held at the Ebenezer Methodist Chapel Shama, the Synod unanimously adopted a resolution to conference from the Effiakuma Circuit to permit the Anaji Estate Section to move from Stage A in accordance with S.O. 602(3A) in preparation to become a Circuit.
Finally, In the year 2020, during the 11th/ 49th Conference of the Methodist Church Ghana held in Accra from 21st to 25th October 2020 under the able leadership of Most Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo, the conference granted the section a full Circuit Status.
The Circuit Organizations
The Anaji Estate Circuit is therefore having all what it takes to be granted a Circuit Status. It has all the Church’s organizations. Namely. Choir, Singing Band, Christ Little Band, Men’s Fellowship, Women’s Fellowship, Youth Fellowship, Susana Wesley Auxiliary, Methodist Guild, and The Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades.
The Circuit has Ten (10) societies, namely, Christ The King Methodist Church, Mount. Zion Methodist Church, Emmanuel Methodist Church, Aldersgate Methodist Church, Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Methodist Church, Calvary Methodist Church, Akromakrom, Bombah and Mampong constituting the “ALL STARS” . The Circuit has Six (6) Care Takers, One (1) Evangelist, Fifty-Two (52) Accredited Lay Preachers and Eighteen (18) Lay Preachers who are currently On-Trial with Very Rev. Isaac Kwame Ghartey as Superintendent Minister for the Circuit.
The Anaji Estate Circuit has a Christian Community of Three Thousand, Nine Hundred and Eighty (3,980). This is made up of One Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty – Five (1,525) being Males and Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Fifty-Five (2,455) being Females. There are Ninety-Five (95) Class Leaders.
Ministers in the Circuit include Very Rev. Isaac Kwame Ghartey as the Superintendent Minister, Very Rev. George J. A. Amoah being an Auxiliary Minister and Rev. Stanley Ansah, also an Auxiliary Minister. The Circuit has Four (4) Supernumeraries. They Include Very Rev. Theophilus K. Anderson, Very Rev. Jane Ellen Odoom, Very Rev. Kwame Odame and Very Rev. Thomas E.N. Ansah.
