As the race for the Next Movie Star (NMS) 2007 gets hotter, there are indications that, all things being equal, the eventual winner will be among these three housemates: Martha Ankomah, Uti Nwachukwu and Lydia Forson.

The TV reality show has 16 housemates but the rule remains the same: only one person will be crowned winner. At the moment, the number of housemates has reduced to 6 - Lydia Forson, Uti Nwachukwu, Martha Ankomah, Enoch Hammond, Ameh Lucy Franscesca and Oshinuga Olufemi.

They have survived several evictions, and will more importantly have their stars to thank for not being nominated for the four different stages of eviction.

The winner for the reality show is expected to go home with fabulous prizes like a Geely car, three movie contracts, N500,000.00 cash and a flat in a choice area in Lagos.

Means of deciding which of these three wins include voting from audience in Nigeria, Ghana and around the world, courtesy African Independent Television (AIT) and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) whose stations are viewed on satellite cable.

Other ways of settling on the winner are by views of professionals about the housemates, and an in-house judges' assessment.

The professionals include established actors, actress, movie directors, producers, etc who have visited the house since the beginning of the reality show.

Those in this category include Joke Silva, Rachael Oniga, Jude Ohorhah, Imaseun Odua Lancelot, among others.

Martha Ankomah is a Ghanaian with a strong personality and very distinct and unique acting skills. No wonder she won for herself a movie contract in Imaseun Lancelot's yet-to-be-released movie.

Moreover, she was the only one out of the six finalists that recited her Nigerian Independence Anniversary poem from memory, and accompanied her recital with drumming.

One would not forget her unique Ghanaian accent in pronouncing words, which some believed has won her a lot of admirers both in Nigeria and Ghana.

Martha's strong points are her versatility, good acting skills (gesticulation, audibility, projection, mimicking etc), and her 101 per cent belief and confidence in herself that she is going to win.

In addition, she is on top of the rating by gaining 85 per cent of the possibility of emerging the winner. The 21-year-old chatterbox was born in Accra, Ghana and loves singing, dancing, talking and acting.

Uti Nwachuckwu, the only Nigerian in the top three, on the other hand, is a happy- go-lucky fellow who immediately strikes your attention with his looks.

A ladies' kind of man by all standards, Uti seems to have garner more of ladies' votes for his babyish, fine-boy looks, though that is not to take away his acting skills and capacity to deliver scripts as given.

His strong points are his adaptability to different situations, strong attitude and personality which places 75 per cent on his possibility of winning.

The 25-year-old Delta state-born has grown from strength to strength in the house, and that is why he is amongst the top three.

Uti's wildest imagination is to have Beyonce, Shakira, Kylie Minogue and Cassie all fight for him in a bath tub filled with chocolate mousse.

Lydia Forson, another Ghanaian in the house, is a very good actress whose looks and above-average, rounded capacity kept her going in the house. She listens to people with rapt attention; her projection is excellent and her demonstration is of good level.

An avid movie critique, Lydia likes hanging out with her friends in a cinema while eating popcorn. A stickler for perfection, Lydia hopes to become the president of Ghana in the future.

In all, she has got charisma and an appealing personality, which seems to have placed her 75 per cent beside Uti. Lydia is a top contender.

The eventual winner is set to emerge this weekend. All hands seem to be on deck as the organizers are seen working around the clock for the final emergence of the NMS 2007.

Who will join Kinglesy Ogbosso (NMS Winner 2005) and Porttia Yahamah (NMS Winner 2006)?

Another person who equally bares his mind on the show is the Media Manager of Red Carpet Entertainment and Media, the Media Consultant of the Next Movie Star 2007, Alayande Stephen T.
Mr. Alayande has this to say about the show:

“We have handled several events and few reality shows. Unarguably, this is the best TV reality show in Nigeria, with the best of packaging that delves more on quality content, value-added concept and unique delivery.

I think the sponsors will be very happy for the mileage and leverage they must be catching and latching on via this project. The response and the media hype has been wonderful; we cannot but thank our media friend for the wonderful work done so far.”

The Next Movie Star is a reality show powered by Haier Thermocool, PZ Cussons (Ghana), Hyra Motors (Makers of Geely), Guinness, Mikano, Teledom, Élan Water, Reckitt Benckiser, Erykah (Professional Make-up Artist), and Pagaimoh creations.
