Don't Take a Bet with Jesus Christ: You Will Lose

Religion & Spirituality Dont Take a Bet with Jesus Christ: You Will Lose
MON, 17 FEB 2025

I. Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, grace be unto you. Have you ever taken a bet with Jesus Christ? What was the outcome of the bet? Did you win your bet against Jesus Christ? Many consciously or unconsciously take a bet with Jesus Christ. Many even consider Christian life to be a big gamble. Many, through ignorance and manipulation of men for financial gains, are lured to gamble with God. In all these circumstances it ends in disappointment, disaster, and unfulfilled ‘prophetic’ declarations. Serving God is not a game of chance. Peter, one of Jesus' closest disciples, confidently took a bet with Jesus Christ and declared that he would never deny Jesus, even if it meant facing death. Jesus, knowing Peter's weaknesses and knowing the heart of men, revealed to Peter that before the rooster crowed three times, he would have denied Him three times. This Peter strongly opposed. Have you been in Peter's position before? Maybe you are not considering your current posture as taking a bet with Jesus Christ.

II. Daughter of Zion, as proclaimed by Jesus Christ, Peter denied Jesus three times, and the rooster crowed, signifying Peter's loss. What is the motive of the seed you are sowing on the altar? Are you baiting God for an answer? What is the motive for calling on your congregation to sow seeds? Are you using God’s name clandestinely to mobilize funds for personal gains? The heart of man is wicked; who can know it? The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it? The heart serves a major part in our relationship with God and men, but unfortunately for us, we are not able to discern the heart. Beloved, we can only know the heart of men through God. We must know God personally and not through the enticement of men. Peter’s experience was a humbling moment, as he realized his limitations and weaknesses. Let us acknowledge our limitations and the need to depend on the Creator instead of His creation.

III. Son of man, as we walk daily with God, let us not be over confident in our abilities to take a bet with Jesus Christ. We must recognize our vulnerabilities and limitations. Beloved, don't overestimate your strengths, Peter thought; by being very close to Jesus Christ, he was stronger and had the power to withstand whatever may come his way. Remember that you are a human being and not God; you have limitations. Remember that Ministers of the Gospel are human beings also, like Peter, and have their limitations. They are not God; no matter the power they exhibit, they have their limitations. As we acknowledge our strengths and those of others, let us also be aware of our weaknesses and their weaknesses too. In our daily life with God, humility is essential. Peter's experience must teach us the importance of humility. We must recognize our dependence on God and acknowledge our limitations.

IV. Beloved brethren in the Lord, let us also recognize that God's sovereignty is unmatched. Jesus Christ's declaration of Peter's denial demonstrates God's sovereignty and omniscience. We must trust in God's plan and provision. Let us remember that the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, God, will not despise. Beloved, God does not want any bet or bait to answer your prayers. Don't take a bet with Jesus Christ, for you will lose. This is a DIVINE KEY to unlock ‘this kind’ of breakthrough released through the Authority and Power of Christ Jesus and served to the brethren through God's Vessel Francis Ameyibor, Yes! Instead, let us humble ourselves before God, acknowledging our weaknesses and limitations.

V. 2025 MY YEAR FOR MY STAR TO RISE FOR THE WORLD TO NOTICE—Let us trust in God's sovereignty and provision, knowing that He is all-knowing and all-powerful.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we come before you with humility, acknowledging our weaknesses and limitations. Help us to trust in your sovereignty and provision, knowing that you are all-knowing and all-powerful. May we learn from Peter's experience and avoid taking bets with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
