Christian Ofori, the manager of Ghanaian musician Kwame Yogot, has issued a public apology to dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and his family following controversial comments allegedly made by the musician during a live social media session.
According to a press statement issued by the manager, his attention was drawn to a video circulating on social media in which offensive comments were reportedly made about Shatta Wale in connection with the recent passing of his younger sister.
Christian Ofori expressed deep regret over the incident and apologised to Shatta Wale, his family and his fans for the hurt and disrespect caused by the comments.
The manager also explained that Kwame Yogot has been going through what he described as a “very difficult period” and has reportedly not been home for the past three months. He said the musician is currently facing personal challenges and appealed to the public to show him compassion and understanding.
“We sincerely plead with Shatta Wale and his fans to forgive him for his actions and the words he used,” the statement said.
The manager further called on the public to keep Kwame Yogot in their prayers, expressing hope that he would overcome his current challenges, return safely to his loved ones and eventually return to the music industry.
