Police declare ‘Ghana Jollof’ wanted for allegedly inciting violence

The Ghana Police Service has declared 40-year-old Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known as “Ghana Jollof”, wanted in connection with an alleged case of inciting violence.

In a wanted-person notice, the Police said Asantewaa was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022, and indicated that information available to the Service suggested she could currently be in the United Kingdom.

The Police have appealed to the public to assist in locating her, asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the Service on 0500100010.

The notice describes Barbara Asantewaa Kodua as a woman of fair complexion.

The Police have not provided further details about the alleged offence or explained the circumstances that led to her being declared wanted.

What is the ‘Ghana Jollof’ account?

“Ghana Jollof” is the name associated with an anonymous TikTok account whose operator has attracted public attention through political commentary, particularly content targeting President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.

Although the person behind the account had not previously been publicly identified, reports have described the commentator as a strong critic of the Mahama administration. The videos have also drawn attention for their use of strong language and attacks directed at political figures.

The account’s activities have increasingly attracted the attention of security agencies, who are reportedly seeking to establish the identity of its operator.

The matter gained further attention this week following the reported invitation of NPP social media activist Efya Royal in connection with efforts to determine the identity and whereabouts of the person behind “Ghana Jollof”.

Nana Ayew Afriye, a parliamentarian, subsequently questioned the basis for the invitation and described the development as part of what he regarded as an unexplained investigation.

The reported search for “Ghana Jollof” has also become connected to a separate case involving Salomey Baffoe, a 40-year-old nurse and mother of three from Hansua in the Techiman Municipality.

According to Baffoe’s family, three persons who identified themselves as National Security operatives went to her residence at about midnight on September 13, 2026, and took her away.

The family later learnt that she was allegedly being linked to the “Ghana Jollof” account, an allegation they have rejected. They maintain that Baffoe has no connection to the TikTok account.
