Popular Nigerian singer Chike has sparked widespread reactions online after publicly accusing a social media user, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, of defrauding him of thousands of dollars.
In a series of posts shared on X on Monday morning, the music star alleged that he invested $20,000 in a business venture presented by Ochibili, only to later discover that the deal may have been fraudulent.
Clearly frustrated, Chike did not hold back as he called out the alleged scheme:
“Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money.”
The singer further claimed that the situation might be bigger than just his own loss, suggesting a pattern of deception:
“$50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard-earned money I didn’t see either. How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped? Even me I de laugh myself.”
Chike also issued a strong warning to fans and the general public, urging them to avoid any business dealings with Ochibili. When pressed for details about the nature of the investment, he maintained that the specifics were irrelevant, emphasizing instead that the entire business proposition appeared to be nonexistent.
“Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud.”
The artist revealed that he has already begun taking steps to recover his alleged losses, though he did not disclose the exact legal or financial actions underway.
As of the time of this report, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili has not publicly responded to the allegations.
The situation continues to generate buzz across social media, with many fans expressing shock and calling for accountability as the story unfolds.
