Ghanaian reggae-dancehall singer Stonebwoy has touted himself as the authentic embodiment of three major musical genres - Afrobeats, reggae and dancehall.
In a tweet on Wednesday, August 2, the award-winning artist stated, "The True Representation of Afrobeats + Reggae + Dancehall is Stonebwoy. Trust The Process..“
This was a caption accompanying a video of Stonebwoy performing at the 30th Emancipation Festival in Guyana on Tuesday alongside Grammy-winning reggae group Morgan Heritage.
Stonebwoy, real name Livingstone Etse Satekla, rose to internal fame after winning the maiden edition of the BET Awards Viewer's Choice Best International Act in 2015.
Since then, the dancehall sensation has made a name for himself in Africa and the Caribbean with hits like "Go Higher," "Come From Far," and "Wicked Man" featuring Chris Martin.
With groundbreaking studio albums, over 100 singles and features with stars like Sean Paul, Stonebwoy has cemented himself as a force in African and Caribbean music.
His latest album, “5th Dimension” incorporates Afrobeats, reggae and dancehall into a fresh global sound.
The Emancipation Festival celebrates the abolition of slavery in 1834 across former British colonies.
