
Citi FM presenter and hostess of “Brunch in the Citi” Jessica Opare Saforo have been nominated as one of the recipients for this year’s ACRAG Awards. Jessica was nominated along side Anita Erskine, Bola Ray and Chris Attoh in the Best Compare category.
The hostess of Miss Malaika and currently the hostess of Stars of the future who have emceed a lot of shows both local and international circles in an interview with Ghananewstoday said “I felt honored to be nominated and to be recognized by ACRAG and I think all the nominees in the category are equally good and I wish them all good luck”.
The awards, which is to honour individuals who have excelled in the arts industry, is also to commemorate Ghana’s 50th anniversary by giving special golden jubilee awards to distinguished persons whose achievements for the past 50 years had impacted positively on Ghana.
The 20th Art Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana (ACRAG) Awards is scheduled to come off at the National Theatre in Accra on Saturday September 1.
Other recipients of the awards are Prof. J.H Nketsia, Prof. Ephraim Amu, Dr. Kobina Bucknor, Dr. Efua Sutherland, Mr. Kofi Antubam, Prof. Kofi Awoonor and many others whose names are already in the history books of Ghana.
Generally, the ceremony itself would honour individuals as musicians, actors, poets, producers, radio and TV personalities, fashion designers and others who are not aware their works are being noticed by society.
Some of these nominees are Kweku Sintim Misa, Kweku Sekyi Addo, Kwesi Owusu, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Ofori Amponsah, Daasebre Gyamena, Kofi B, Kwabena Kwabena, Agya Koo and many more.
These personalities would receive various awards from categories as the ACRAG star, Cultural Ambassador, Outstanding performance, Talent and special honour.
According to a statement signed and issued by ACRAG president, Emeritus Prof. J.H. Kwabena Nketsia, the ACRAG star award is the highest of all the awards and is subdivided into Flagstar, Music star of Africa, Black Music star and Cultural Revival awards.
