Ghanaian political musician, Barima Sidney has been asked by APC Party Gurus to composed a victory song for Nigeria’s president elect, President Muhammadu Buhari and his yet-to-be sworn into office, All Progressives Congress administration titled, ‘Arise Nigeria’.

The inauguration which will be conducted by the chief justice of Nigeria, Mahmoud Mohammed on the Democracy Day Celebration at the Eagle Square in Abuja is slated for Friday, May 29, 2015.

‘Arise Nigeria’ will be the theme song at the swear in ceremony, as it “focuses on the agenda and much-needed good leadership of General Muhammadu Buhari and his administration as well as the intention of justifying the confidence Nigerians has reposed in him.”

According to Barima Sidney, “a good friend of mine called Ernest contacted me that he could assist me approach the party gurus since they used my ‘Africa Money’ song without officially contacting me or paying royalty for using it after news went viral that the then opposition party was using the song as one of its main campaign songs few days to their election day.”

“And upon getting in touch with the man between the APC party and me called, Divine alias Igwe through my friend; I was asked by Igwe, to officially record a victory song for General Muhammadu Buhari because the APC party gurus could not get in touch with me on time during their campaigning days when they used my ‘Africa Money’ song as one of their main campaign songs.”

Hence, “after recording ‘Arise Nigeria’, which content is Nigeria’s National Anthem and a few lyrical add ups; I presented it to Igwe, who presented the song to the party gurus on Monday, April 13, 2015 and upon submission, it was approved on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Meanwhile, plans to shoot the video to the song in Nigeria are underway,” the 'Africa Money' singer told AmaLarbieAfrica.com.

'Arise Nigeria’ recorded on the cover of Lionel Peterson’s ‘Peace’ song, was produced by Kin Dee of Sound City Studios in Accra, Ghana.

The Nigerian former opposition party, APC was reported to have used the Ghanaian musician’s 2008-released song, ‘Africa Money’ as one of its main campaign songs prior to the country’s presidential election which came off from March 28 to April 1, 2015; when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially pronounced Buharism as the winner.

Meanwhile, Barima Sidney is unconfirmed billed to perform at the after swear in concert in Nigeria; “I have been billed along other African acts to perform at the after concert of the inauguration ceremony of General Buhari, but I am still waiting for confirmation from Igwe as to whether or not I will be on stage,.”
