This year's Ada Asafotufiami festival is around the corner and several music-related events have been laid on as part of the festivities.
The Ada Asafotufiami festival is celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Ada Traditional Area in the Dangme East District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It is an annual festival and week-long activities.
The celebration of the festival is in remembrance of the achievements in wars for settlement fought by the ancestors of the area, hence the name 'Asafotufiami'.
This year, Guru of 'Boyz Abre' fame and some selected hiplife stars are billed to perform at a live musical concert dubbed 'MTN Chill Zone 2014 With Guru' at the Rubstone Pub, Ada Foah on Sunday, August 3 at a programme organised by Ringworld Limited with support from MTN.
Bound to be a night with magical and fiery performances from an incredible line-up of Ghanaian celebrated music icons, organisers are looking forward to an extraordinary concert yet to happen at Ada.
Fans of Guru, who have not seen him in action for a while now, could catch him in a show on Sunday, August 3.
According to the organisers, 'The platform is meant to allow the whole country to share in the rich history of the people who happen to be celebrating their festival.'
