The Western Regional Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old farmer, Emmanuel Kwofie, following the circulation of a viral video showing him assaulting his wife, Diana Mensah, 25, at Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
Kwofie, a native of Dixcove, was arrested by the Agona Nkwanta District Police Command at about 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026.
In a statement signed by Chief Superintendent of Police, Olivia Et Adiku, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Western Regional Police Command on Tuesday, October 13, the police said preliminary investigations had established that Kwofie and Mensah, a second-hand clothing seller, are married and reside together at Domeabra in the Agona Nkwanta Municipality.
The statement detailed the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault, saying: “On 08 October 2026, the suspect accused Diana of having an extramarital affair and subjected her to severe beating as seen in the video,”
According to the police, Mensah was rescued by a Good Samaritan and taken to the Agona Nkwanta Polyclinic, where she received treatment and was discharged.
