Veteran actress and CEO of Smarttys Management & Production, Selassie Ibrahim, celebrates her birthday today, May 19.
She is believed to be in her late 30s but she will not reveal her true age as she has left that for the public to guess.
It is anticipated that she will throw a huge party tonight. However the beautiful actress said she would be celebrating the day quietly with her family later this evening at her Spintex home.
'I thank God for adding one more year to my age. Without Him, I'm sure I may probably not be alive by now. It is not everybody that has this opportunity. I thank God.'
'Last year, I celebrated the day with a sizable party but this year, I will celebrate quietly with my family,' she told BEATWAVES yesterday.
'I want to use this opportunity to also thank my fans and viewers for their contributions to my career and their comments that pushed me this far,' she added.
Selassie, a producer cum actress, is a well-known figure in Ghana's movie industry. She started acting at very a tender age. She had her screen debut in the 90s in ' My Sweetie,' which gave her a breakthrough by starring alongside big names such as Grace Omaboe and Mc-Jordan Amateyefio.
Currently, she has appeared in over 80 productions, most of the titles she cannot recall. Among her movies are 'Yaa Asantewaa', 'Frozen Emotion', 'Malaika', and 'My Sister's Honour'. She has also acted in TV series like ' I Stand Accused', 'Broadway' and a few more. After what appears as a hiatus, she bounced back on the scene last year with her own production titled ' CEO', including a lifestyle and TV magazine dubbed Smart People .
