Wa All Stars talented midfielder David Abagna is the 2017 Sports Writers Most Promising Star of the Year.
He beat competition from weightlifter Richmond Osafo to win the prestigious gong.
Abagna scored 13 goals in his first season in the Ghana Premier League and his decisive goals sent the Northern Blues to the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup.
He was one of the few players to have played all the 30 league matches.
Abagna could not attend the awards night because he is with his team in Cape Coast preparing for Sunday's league clash against WAFA SC.
