Cabinet has approved a bill to regulate public relations (PR) practice in Ghana, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Shamima Muslim has announced.
The proposed legislation is intended to promote professionalism and strengthen credibility in the public relations sector.
Speaking at the 2026 National PR Summit in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Ms Muslim also outlined government support for practitioners, including discounted registration for 90 per cent of public relations officers.
She made the announcement on behalf of the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
The government, she said, would also support the completion of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) permanent secretariat.
It also plans to organise capacity-building programmes with experts to improve practitioners’ professional skills.
