Former Black Stars striker Lloyd Owusu named in Brentford FC Hall of Fame

Former Black Stars striker Lloyd Owusu has been inducted into Brentford FC's Hall of Fame for his outstanding role played at the club from 1998-2007.

Owusu, who earned his first cap for Ghana in 2005, bagged 76 goals over two spells with the Bees.

Brentford took to their official Twitter page to announce the Hall of Fame Top 10 with the Ghanaian occupying the 7th place.

After a great spell with the Bees, the 39-year-old went on to play for the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Reading and Yeovil.

Owusu, on 26 April 2005, in a rare appearance for Ghana, tore a groin muscle in a friendly match against VfB Stuttgart. As a result, he was out injured for the 2006 World Cup, and so was not selected in the Ghana squad.

In January 2015, he announced his retirement aged 38 after a career spanning 17 years.
