English side Chelsea have signed Black Stars winger Christian Atsu from FC Porto and immediately loaned him out to Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands.
The 21-year-old left-sided winger at the end of last season categorically informed Porto of his desire to leave the club with a year remaining on his contract; a decision which got him frozen out of the club's first team pre-season preparations.
Atsu is now owned by Chelsea who secured him at a reported fee of approximately £3.5million. He is reported to have already arrived in the Netherlands for medicals at his loan destination, Vitesse.
Liverpool had been chasing the Ghana international, but failed to agree a fee with his Portuguese club.
