Baffour Gyan has vowed to help his new club Asante Kotoko increase their Glo Premier League title truimph this season.
The former Black Stars striker will make his competitive debut for the Kumasi-based side in their Glo Premier League opener against Great Olympics at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Sunday.
The 29-year-old played for Liberty Professionals in 1997 before leaving for Greek side Kalamata but made returns to the club in 1998 and 2000 after unsuccessful spells abroad.
Gyan now says he is eager to help his boyhood club wrest this year's title from champions Hearts of Oak.
''This is the club I have supported since I was a boy and I am glad to be here to try and help them win the title,'' Gyan told Ghanasoccernet.com
''We need to work as a team to win the title and hopefully I would be able to bring my experiences to bear on the team when the league starts on Sunday.
''It is important we remain focus and try to do more than our best to try and win the league for our fans."
Gyan, elder brother of Stade Rennes striker Asamoah Gyan, wants to re-launch his career.
He has scored 11 international goals in 33 appearances.
