Ghanaian striker Isaac Boakye will play in the German second division this season after signing up for FC Nürnberg from VfL Wolfsburg.
Ghanasoccernet revealed last week that the 26-year-old was on trials with the Bundesliga II side after being declared surplus to requirements by Wolfsburg
Boakye became the second player in 24 hours to leave UEFA Cup contenders Wolfsburg by signing a two-year deal with Nürnberg on Wednesday night.
No details of the fee for the 26-year-old Ghanaian international was disclosed.
Boakye was recalled by VFL Wolfsburg for the upcoming Bundesliga season after spending the first part of the year on loan at Mainz 05.
He joined Wolfsburg in 2006 after three successful seasons at Armenia Bielefeld where he scored 24 times in 61 games.
But he has been ravaged by injuries and fell out with Felix Magath who decided to farm him out to Mainz.
