Ghana's interim technical team is expected to announce its squad later this week for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Somalia.
The Black Stars face a crucial double-header against Somalia on November 12 and 16 as they seek to revive their qualification campaign following a disappointing start.
Ghana have lost their opening two matches in Group C, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Ivory Coast in Bouaké before a shock 4-2 loss to The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The results led to the departure of head coach Carlos Queiroz, prompting the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to begin the search for a new substantive coach.
A five-member search committee, chaired by former GFA vice-president Fred Pappoe, was subsequently established to identify a replacement. However, an interim technical team has been appointed to take charge of the upcoming qualifiers.
Kim Lars Björkegren will lead the team, assisted by Ibrahim Tanko and Godwin Attram, while former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has been named goalkeepers' trainer.
The technical team is expected to name its squad this week as preparations intensify for the two matches, which are both expected to be played in Ghana.
Ghana currently sit bottom of Group C without a point from their opening two games and face mounting pressure to secure positive results against Somalia.
The four-time African champions are also desperate to return to the continental showpiece after missing the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
