Hanna Bisiw is the current National Women’s Organiser of the NDC. That office carries a responsibility to organise, mobilise and strengthen the party, not deepen divisions among its members.
Yet she is in Tano South spreading rumours and attacking the credibility of the MCE, MP and constituency executives, while party members who attempt to defend themselves face intimidation by thugs. This is the kind of conduct that threatens the unity of a party whose grassroots members have worked hard to build its structures.
These are the facts:
In her bid to be retained in 2022 as the national women’s organizer, she declared that she has lost interest in contesting for MP. But all that was a blatant lie.
Tano South needed a candidate who is a unifier and had tact in mobilisation. Some party faithful spoke to her to allow Charles Asiedu, who is a native of the constituency, to serve as her campaign coordinator(2018, 2020, 2022) and the current Patron of the National Women's Wing and her strategist for the contest. She gave him his blessing and he won.
In the run-off to the 2024 election, she collected her pick-up and the party pick-up given to her as a parliamentary candidate that was being used by the party for campaigning in the constituency.
Through it all, the hardworking executives rallied behind the candidate, Charles Asiedu, and he won a seat that she, Hanna Bisiw, had lost twice in a row.
Something she never let go of, but put on the clothes of pretense she does best.
After seeing all the gains of the MP in the constituency that is giving the indication of the party retaining the seat in 2028, she has sneaked into the constituency to spread falsehood and embark on a smear campaign against the Chairman, MCE,other executives and candidates who supported the MP diligently during campaign and the MP himself, the young man who carried her campaign and her political career since 2018. Even as an MP, he never stopped responding when she called.
It started with calling party members to her house and accusing the sitting executives of being thieves. After which she introduced her own set of candidates for each position.
Surprisingly, her candidate for Chairmanship is the person who contested Charles Asiedu and lost.
He harbors so much hatred that he refused to join the 2024 campaign.
The agenda is clear now. Hanna Bisiw wants to contest the seat again and wants Charles Asiedu out!
She then proceeded to organise a public engagement at the Bechem Community Center and boldly labelled the MCE, who was the secretary, and all the others as thieves. The MCE came to the venue to answer the allegations levelled against him, but she refused to give him a microphone. MCE then proceeded to get another microphone to clear his name, only for the thugs of Hanna Bisiw to viciously assault him and other party members who questioned her lies.
If you want to be MP at all costs, is the mission to catch fellow NDC members in a web of rumours and political hostility?
As National Women's Organiser, her responsibility is to bring people together, mobilise women and strengthen the party from the grassroots. She should be building bridges, not burning them; organising, not scattering; uniting members, not turning colleagues into enemies.
Now the MCE and constituency executives are being called thieves. Serious allegations! But where is the evidence? Which funds were allegedly stolen? Which transactions are in question? Where are the audit reports or formal complaints?
If there is evidence, produce it. Let the appropriate structures investigate. But nobody should be allowed to destroy another person's reputation through accusations that cannot be substantiated because of their greed and selfish ambition.
And the question of intimidation must not be swept under the carpet. No party member should have to fear being attacked for defending an elected MP, MCE, or questioning the conduct of a national officer. Political office is not a licence to intimidate people, and nobody is above accountability.
Hanna Bisiw must answer a simple question: are you organising the NDC in Tano South, or are you scattering it?
If she wants to contest the sitting MP, she should do so with her track record as a 1-term MP and a Minister for 8years against that of a new entrant who has served diligently, delivering his campaign promises, accountable, and people-oriented.
Let her produce the facts. If she believes the constituency executives have stolen her money, let her present the evidence. If she has a political ambition, let her pursue it openly and allow the party's democratic structures to decide.
But she cannot demand accountability from others while expecting her own conduct to escape scrutiny.
The grassroots are watching. The executives are watching. The delegates are watching.
Tano South is not anybody's personal property. The NDC belongs to its members, and no individual, regardless of title or political history, has the right to place personal ambition above the collective interest of the party.
Saturday's election must be about facts, records and the future of the NDC, not rumours, intimidation and personal rivalries.
Organising builds. Division destroys. Allegations require evidence. Leadership demands accountability.
Hanna Bisiw, the people of Tano South deserve answers. The party deserves unity. And its members deserve leadership that strengthens their structures rather than tears them apart.
TANO SOUTH IS BIGGER THAN ANY INDIVIDUAL. THE NDC IS BIGGER THAN PERSONAL AMBITION.
