2027 AFCON Qualifiers: Carlos Queiroz adds nine players to Black Stars squad for Ivory Coast and Gambia clashes

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has drafted nine additional players into Ghana's squad ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d'Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as an international friendly against Morocco.

The changes come after medical concerns emerged over some members of the original 24-man squad named for the upcoming fixtures.

Among the players called up are defenders Jonas Adjetey of VfL Wolfsburg, OGC Nice's Alidu Seidu, Rapid Bucharest left-back Ebenezer Annan and Osasuna defender Rockson Yeboah.

Midfielder Rahim Ibrahim of Slovan Bratislava has also been added, while forwards Brandon Thomas-Asante (Coventry City), Mohammed Fuseini (Derby County), Benjamin Tetteh (Kalba) and Felix Afena-Gyan (Igdir FK) complete the list of new arrivals.

Ghana opened their training camp in Accra on Monday, 21 September, and will continue preparations on Tuesday as they gear up for a busy international window.

The Black Stars begin their AFCON qualifying campaign with a challenging away fixture against Côte d'Ivoire at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké on 24 September.

Queiroz's side will then return home to face The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on 27 September, as they look to make a strong start in Group C.

Ghana will conclude the international break with a high-profile friendly against Morocco at the Grand Stade de Tanger on 4 October.
