Black Stars team manager Ameenu Shardow takes up new GFA diaspora role

Black Stars Team Manager Ameenu Shardow has been appointed Head of the Strategic Diaspora Program at the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The appointment forms part of the GFA's renewed efforts to strengthen engagement with Ghanaian players and football stakeholders living abroad.

Shardow leaves his position with the senior national team after more than five years in the role, during which he served as a key member of the Black Stars' management team.

In his new position, he will lead the GFA's strategy to identify, engage and build relationships with Ghanaian players born or raised outside the country. He will also work to strengthen ties with clubs, academies and football communities across the diaspora.

The GFA said Shardow will collaborate closely with its Technical Directorate, Ghana's diplomatic missions abroad, parents of Ghanaian players overseas, scouts and the National Teams Department.

His experience in team management and player relations is expected to support the association's efforts to improve talent identification and facilitate the integration of diaspora-born players into Ghana's national teams.

The GFA added that a new Black Stars Team Manager will be announced in due course.
