Ipswich Town have condemned the racist abuse directed at Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu on social media following the club's 1-0 Premier League defeat to Everton on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was sent off during the match after receiving a second yellow card for simulation as Ipswich slipped to a narrow loss.
In a statement, the club said it was aware of the online abuse targeted at the former Leicester City winger and pledged its support for the player.
"Ipswich Town Football Club is aware of online racist abuse directed at Abdul Fatawu via social media," the statement read.
"The club finds any form of discriminatory behaviour completely unacceptable and has no place in football.
"We are investigating this incident alongside the Premier League and the relevant authorities.
"We will continue to offer Abdul our full support."
Fatawu joined Ipswich from Leicester City during the summer transfer window and has quickly become part of Gary O'Neil's squad following the club's return to the Premier League.
