Morocco name 30-man squad for Gabon and Lesotho qualifiers and Ghana friendly

Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has named a 30-man squad for the Atlas Lions' upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Gabon and Lesotho.

Morocco will host Gabon on Friday, 25 September before travelling to face Lesotho four days later.

Ouahbi has included a strong squad featuring captain and Paris St-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, Manchester United's Noussair Mazraoui and West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd.

Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz is also part of the squad, alongside Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yassine Bounou and Tottenham midfielder Bilal El Khannouss.

The squad also includes Azzedine Ounahi, Ismael Saibari, Sofiane Rahimi and Abde Ezzalzouli as Morocco continue preparations for their upcoming international commitments.

• Defenders: Noussair Mazraoui, Anass Salah-Eddine, Marwane Saadane, Nayef Aguerd, Redouane Halhal, Issa Diop, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Achraf Hakimi, Zakaria El Ouahdi, Ali Maamar.
• Midfielders: Ayyoub Bouaddi, Samir El Mourabete, Neil El Aynaoui, Oussama Targhalline, Bilal El Khannouss, Soufiane El-Faouzi, Azzedine Ounahi, Ismael Saibari.
• Forwards: Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Abdellah Ouazane, Brahim Diaz, Yassine Gessime, Yassir Zabiri, Soufiane Rahimi, Tawfik Bentayeb.

Following the AFCON qualifiers, Morocco will face Ghana in an international friendly on Sunday, 4 October 2026, at the Grand Stade de Tanger.

The fixture will provide both sides with an opportunity to assess their squads ahead of their subsequent international assignments.
