Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren believes several members of Black Princesses squad have what it takes to break into the senior national team after their impressive 3-1 victory over South Korea at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

The Black Princesses responded in style after opening their Group C campaign with a 3-0 defeat to Ecuador, producing a dominant display that reignited their hopes of reaching the knockout stage on Wednesday afternoon.

Ghana controlled the contest for long spells and were rewarded after the break when Sarah Nyarko opened the scoring.

Ivy Owusu Ansah doubled the lead with a stunning long-range strike before Ruth Amponsah added a third late on, with South Korea grabbing a consolation goal before the final whistle.

The performance caught the attention of Björkegren, who praised both the quality and resilience shown by the young Ghanaian side.

"Many really good players here," the Swedish coach said.

"I'm happy that they bounced back today. They had a rough first game, but today they performed so well and were completely dominant."

Björkegren also hinted that several of the U-20 players could soon earn opportunities with the Black Queens as the senior side continues to build towards future international competitions.

"We will see. There are three, four, maybe a potential five players that will be there [in the Black Queens setup] sooner or later at least," he added.

The victory moved Ghana up to second place in Group C ahead of their final group-stage match against France.

The Black Princesses now know that avoiding defeat against the French side will be enough to secure a place in the next round.
