Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has blamed Christians for the failure to complete the National Cathedral, arguing that the problem was not corruption but a lack of commitment from believers.

“The National Cathedral was not built, not because of corruption. I was right there. It was because we Christians are not serious,” he said while preaching to his church.

According to the Archbishop, Christians have failed to think about the future of the church and what they should leave behind for generations.

“We are not serious about posterity. We are not serious about the kingdom. We are a bunch of selfish, greedy people. It’s all about us. We don’t think about the kingdom,” he said.

Duncan-Williams questioned the contribution many Christians make to the church despite the blessings and opportunities they receive.

He said Christians should think about what they would leave behind for the work of God rather than focusing only on their personal comfort.

“Think first, what contribution have you made to the kingdom?” he asked.

He also challenged Christians to consider whether their lives had produced anything that would serve as a lasting memorial in the church.

“Even the seat you are sitting on, or from the day you got born again up to now, all the offerings you’ve been given cannot even buy the chair you are sitting on,” he said.

The Archbishop argued that some Christians spend heavily on their homes and lifestyles but contribute little to the wider work of the church.
