Charles Sampson announces final Black Princesses' squad for U-20 Women's World Cup

Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson has named his final 21-player squad for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.

The tournament will run from 5 September to 27 September, with Ghana set to make an eighth consecutive appearance at the global showpiece.

Defender Alexandra Tay, forward Jennifer Dawah and goalkeeper Najat Abdul Salam are among the players returning for another U-20 Women's World Cup campaign, bringing valuable experience to the squad.

Abdul Salam is joined in the goalkeeping department by Precious Akanguwie and Ruth Agudu Sebbie.

The defensive unit includes Precious Asante, Ruby Osei, Juliana Gyekyewaa, Salma Naazo, Police Ladies defender Margaret Agyapomaa and Ampem Darkoa Ladies' Diana Amoako.

Esther Asamoah Yiadom, Latifa Musah, Latifa Abesik, Sarah Nyarko and Ruth Amponsah make up the midfield options.

The attacking line features Ivy Osei Owusu, Jackline Ntoso, Priscilla Mensah, Angelema Akanyirige, Jennifer Dawah and Guangdong Women's forward Agnes Yeboah.

Ghana will begin their Group D campaign against Ecuador on 6 September before facing Korea Republic and France in their remaining group matches.

The Black Princesses will be aiming to reach the knockout stage for the first time in their history after seven successive appearances at the tournament.

Meanwhile, Charles Sampson and his side will wrap up their preparations with a friendly game against Mexico's U-20 team.
