Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of Congolese centre-back Aristote Tamuzi on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.

The 27-year-old's arrival was confirmed on Friday after he successfully completed his medical examination in Kumasi.

Tamuzi joins the Porcupine Warriors from AS New Soger and brings experience from his time playing in Eswatini.

The physically imposing defender is expected to add strength and leadership to Kotoko's backline as the club prepares for the new campaign.

Known for his strong tackling and ability in the air, Tamuzi featured in more than 60 matches over the past two seasons, highlighting his consistency and importance to his previous sides.

The defender said he was aware of the expectations that come with representing one of Ghana's biggest clubs but was ready to meet the challenge.

“Asante Kotoko is a historical club in Africa and Ghana, and I am delighted to be here. I am aware of the pressure, but we will work hard to please the supporters. I am here to work.”

Tamuzi will now look to establish himself in Kotoko's defence as the club targets domestic success in the 2026/27 season.

The Porcupine Warriors will begin their league campaign away against newly promoted Debibi United.

Before the start of the league season, Kotoko will face traditional rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2026 Democracy Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday as part of their preparations.
