Asante Kotoko have submitted a proposal to the National Sports Authority (NSA) to rent the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the entire 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors are seeking to move away from the traditional match-by-match arrangement and secure the use of the Kumasi venue for all their home fixtures during the campaign.
Under the proposed agreement, Kotoko would take full control of the stadium on matchdays and retain revenue generated from their games, while the NSA would remain responsible for preparing the facility for matches.
The proposal is expected to give the club greater control over matchday operations and provide more certainty over their home venue throughout the season.
The development comes as work continues at Baba Yara Stadium ahead of the start of the new Ghana Premier League campaign.
NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah recently inspected the stadium, including the playing surface and ongoing upgrades, and expressed confidence that the facility would be ready to host matches when the new season begins.
Kotoko have traditionally played their home matches at Baba Yara Stadium, with the club paying to use the facility on a game-by-game basis.
A season-long agreement, if approved, would represent a change in the club's arrangement with the NSA and could allow Kotoko to plan their matchday activities and commercial operations more effectively.
The proposal will now be considered by the relevant authorities before a final decision is made.
With the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season approaching, Kotoko are keen to establish a clear home-ground arrangement as they prepare for another campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors will begin their league campaign away from home against newly promoted Debibi United.
