Black Queens take on Tanzania in final WAFCON preparatory friendly

The Black Queens of Ghana will continue their preparations for the 2026 TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a second international friendly against Tanzania on Monday, July 20, in Casablanca, Morocco.

The friendly, which kicks off at 6:00 p.m. local time, forms part of Ghana's final build-up ahead of the continental championship as the technical team fine-tunes its squad for the tournament.

After completing their opening warm-up match against Ivory Coast, the Black Queens will be looking to build confidence, improve team chemistry and maintain their momentum against the East African opponents.

The match also provides head coach and his technical staff with another opportunity to assess the players, test tactical approaches and ensure the squad is fully prepared for the challenges of the upcoming competition.

Ghana has been camping in Morocco as part of an intensive training programme ahead of the 2026 WAFCON, which is set to begin in the coming weeks.

The Black Queens have been drawn in Group C, where they will face Cape Verde, Mali and Cameroon in their quest to secure a place in the knockout stage of the tournament.
