The Ghana Police Service has re-arrested 26-year-old TikToker Mahama Aminat, popularly known as “Bawumia Ba,” over an alleged case of offensive conduct.

The suspect was arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court on the latest charge as police continue investigations into the matter. Authorities have not yet disclosed full details surrounding the new allegation, but confirmed that the case remains under investigation.

The re-arrest comes just weeks after Mahama Aminat was first arrested by the Police Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) in Sekyere Zongo in the Ashanti Region. During that arrest, police alleged that she had posted several TikTok videos containing insulting remarks directed at President John Dramani Mahama, while also issuing threats against the President and First Lady Lordina Mahama and allegedly inciting others to attack them. She was subsequently charged with offensive conduct and issuing threats before being put before the court.

Following her initial court appearance, the Accra Circuit Court granted Mahama Aminat bail in the sum of GH¢1 million with two sureties as legal proceedings continued.

Her latest appearance before the Accra Circuit Court marks a fresh development in the ongoing legal process. The Ghana Police Service says investigations are still underway, and she is expected to remain before the court as the case progresses.
