Black Stars forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku says he is confident Ghana will advance to the next stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the team prepares for a challenging group campaign.
Ghana, making their fifth appearance at the global showpiece, have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
The four-time African champions have struggled in recent editions, suffering back-to-back group-stage exits in 2014 and 2022.
The Black Stars begin their campaign against Panama on Wednesday at BMO Field in Toronto, before facing England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium and wrapping up their group matches against Croatia on June 27.
Despite the difficult draw, the Leicester City attacker remains upbeat about the team’s chances of progressing.
"Looking at the team, I have so much confidence in the guys," he told Ghana FA Media.
"Everyone is ready, and the training we’re doing is helping. I think it’s going to make us fitter, improve us, and help the team move forward," he added.
The Black Stars are expected to arrive in Canada later today for the game.
