The Matchday 31 fixtures of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League produced a mix of decisive victories, late drama, and a major statement in the title race across various venues over the weekend.
The round began on Friday with Bechem United securing a comfortable 3-1 win over struggling Eleven Wonders at the Swedru Stadium. Augustine Okrah set the tone early, scoring just two minutes into the match before doubling his tally in first-half stoppage time to put Bechem firmly in control.
Eleven Wonders, despite their relegation troubles, responded after the break through a 66th-minute strike to briefly raise hopes of a comeback. But Isaac Nyarko quickly extinguished any revival, restoring Bechem’s two-goal cushion just three minutes later to seal the result.
On Saturday, Swedru All Blacks pulled off a late 2-1 victory against Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex. Vision FC led through Faruk Mohammed shortly after halftime, but Rudolf Mensah restored parity before Zayat Bubakari converted an 89th-minute penalty to complete the turnaround.
Vision FC were handed a lifeline deep into stoppage time when they won a penalty of their own, but Alidu Mohammed failed to convert, denying them a dramatic equaliser.
Sunday’s action delivered several headline results. Aduana FC were held to a goalless draw by 10-man Heart of Lions at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park, while Dreams FC produced one of the standout performances of the weekend with a 2-0 win over Asante Kotoko at the Tuba Astro Turf. Oumar Naffal opened the scoring early before Ebenezer Adade doubled the advantage after the break to condemn Kotoko to defeat.
Karela United also claimed a late 2-1 win over Young Apostles at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. Hafiz Abdulai and Richmond Opoku traded goals before Rahman Yaya struck in stoppage time to secure maximum points for the hosts.
At the TNA Park, Medeama SC strengthened their grip on the title race with a commanding 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars, courtesy of a first-half brace from Salim Adams.
Hearts of Oak earned a narrow but important 1-0 away win over Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, with Mawuli Wayo scoring the decisive goal in the 11th minute.
FC Samartex were also in dominant form, beating Basake Holy Stars 3-1 at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Early goals from Akwasi Sarpong and Francis Gyetuah set the tone before Christian Agyenim Boateng added a third in the second half.
The scheduled clash between Hohoe United and Berekum Chelsea did not take place after Hohoe United reportedly withdrew from the topflight.
After Matchday 31, Medeama SC lead the standings’ upper tier alongside Bibiani Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak, and FC Samartex in the top four, while Berekum Chelsea, Hohoe United, and Eleven Wonders remain in the relegation zone.
