Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray have entered the competition for the signature of Ghana defender Caleb Yirenkyi, adding further intrigue to an already crowded transfer race.
The FC Nordsjaelland standout has quickly established himself as one of Europe’s most promising young prospects, earning plaudits for his athleticism, intensity and ability to influence games at both ends of the pitch.
Nordsjaelland are understood to be demanding a fee in the region of €20 million for the 21-year-old, although Galatasaray are reportedly considering alternative deal structures — including a loan move with an option to buy or performance-based add-ons — to ease the initial financial outlay.
According to reports, Yirenkyi is receptive to a switch to Istanbul, with the opportunity to feature in the UEFA Champions League viewed as a significant incentive.
Head coach Okan Buruk is believed to be a long-time admirer of the Ghana international, seeing him as an ideal profile to bring pace, aggression and energy into his midfield setup.
Galatasaray are expected to step up negotiations with both Nordsjaelland and the player in the coming days as they push to move talks forward on what they regard as a long-term project.
Yirenkyi joined the Danish club in February 2025 and remains under contract until June 2030. He is currently valued at €6 million on Transfermarkt.
So far this season, the eight-cap Ghanaian has contributed one goal and four assists in 17 appearances in the 2025/26 Danish Superliga campaign, while Premier League sides Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth are also monitoring his situation.
