Ghana’s Black Stars will complete their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a friendly against Honduras on June 9, following the collapse of a planned fixture against Jamaica.
The match against Jamaica, initially scheduled for June 10, could not be finalised, paving the way for a behind-closed-doors encounter with the Central American side as Carlos Queiroz and his team fine-tune preparations.
It will be the final test for Ghana after a 1-1 draw with Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium, a performance that offered mixed signals ahead of the global tournament.
Following the Honduras fixture, the squad will travel to Toronto to begin their World Cup campaign preparations in earnest.
Ghana, set for a fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage, have been drawn in a demanding Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia—widely regarded as one of the tournament’s most competitive groups.
Their campaign begins on June 17 against Panama at BMO Field, before a high-profile clash with England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium. The group stage concludes on June 27 against Croatia.
The Black Stars are targeting a return to the knockout rounds for the first time since 2010, having exited at the group stage in both 2014 and 2022.
