West African Football Academy (WAFA) have earned promotion to the Division One League after triumphing in the Volta Region Division Two Promotional Playoff held on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
The Sogakope-based outfit clinched a 2-1 victory over Kpetoe Diamond FC in the final, staged at the Adaklu Youth Resource Centre.
This success marks a significant turnaround for WAFA, after narrowly missing out on promotion last season following a final defeat to Inter Allies.
Ahead of the decisive clash, Kpetoe Diamond FC had topped their group with a perfect record, while WAFA finished top of theirs with seven points.
With this qualification, WAFA will now compete in Zone 3 of the Division One League. The move comes as a relief to the club, which previously played in Zone 2—an arrangement that posed considerable financial and logistical challenges.
