Samreboi-based Ghana Premier League side FC Samartex has announced the permanent signing of defender James Sewornu from Accra Hearts of Oak.
The club made the announcement in a tweet on Wednesday, August 10, saying "FC Samartex is delighted to announce the permanent signing of centre-back James Sewornu, who previously played for us on loan from Accra Hearts of Oak last season.
It added, “Sewornu's impressive performances have led us to secure his services on a three-year deal."
Sewornu played for Samartex on loan last season, putting in stellar displays that convinced the club to secure him on a permanent transfer.
The experienced defender will bolster Samartex's squad ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season, which kicks off on September 15.
Last season, Samartex finished 10th on the league table after some initial struggles in the first round.
However, the team showed great fighting spirit in the second round to earn a mid-table position.
