The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has opened up about why Prosper Narteh Ogum left the club.
The former WAFA trainer led the Porcupine Warriors to annex the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title in his first season at the club after signing a two-year deal.
Prior to the start of the 2022/23 season, Prosper Ogum left the club, a decision that shook the football circles.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Amponsah revealed that the University of Cape Coast lecturer presented a list of players he would need within two weeks.
According to the CEO, Prosper Narteh Ogum was not reasonable with his demand hence the club’s decision to part ways with him.
“We had a meeting to discuss what we have to do ahead of the new season,” he told Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio.
“He presented us with his list of players that he will need and he asked us to get the players within two weeks which was not possible.
“We had a meeting and I was explaining to him that it is not possible and he got angry and said that is how it is done everywhere and that I can check using Google and it was from I realized that he has to go because at the meeting he was angry and I was also angry,” he added.
Seydou Zerbo was named Prosper Narteh Ogum's successor. The Burkinabe trainer was fired after losing 2-0 to Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Abdul Gazale is currently in charge of the team as interim coach.
