Karela United displayed outstanding fighting spirit on Sunday afternoon as the team came from behind to hammer Elmina Sharks 3-1 in the Ghana Premier League.
The Anyinase-based club today hosted the team from Elmina at the CAM Park to compete for points on matchday 23 of the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight league.
Following a slow start to the contest, the hosts trailed after just 9 minutes into the action as Michael Asamoah scored for Elmina Sharks.
After that incident, Karela United regrouped and focused on doing the simple things. Just six minutes later, the team equalized through Emmanuel Dagadu to restore parity.
With momentum now on the team’s side, the hosts piled pressure on the away team and managed to take the lead in the 30th minute after Emmanuel Owusu Boakye’s fine effort found the back of the net.
Later in the second half, Emmanuel Dagadu netted his second of the matchday to seal a resounding 3-1 win for Karela United as the team handed the relegation-threatened Elmina Sharks a big blow.
For Karela United, the team is 7th in the Ghana Premier League and has a chance of finishing the campaign in the top four.
