Ghana’s President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has told Coach Otto Addo to prepare himself to be kidnapped following his heroics with the national team.
The Germany-based tactician on Tuesday evening guided the Black Stars to draw 1-1 with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, thereby qualifying Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Impressed with the feat achieved by coach Otto Addo, President Akufo-Addo in a phone call with the gaffer said he may not be allowed to return to Dortmund when he arrives in Ghana.
“Well done but when you come here we are going to kidnap you. We are not going to allow you to go back to Dortmund. So be very careful when you are entering. You might not be able to leave Ghana again,” President Akufo-Addo said as he shared a laugh with the coach.
During the conversation, President Akufo-Addo extended his appreciation to the coach and the team for the good work done, noting that it is the best present for his birthday today.
“Thank you. I appreciate it. It is the best possible birthday present I could have had,” President Akufo-Addo said.
